Cooking in Naples with Francesco Civita
During this amazing cooking class you will visit the food market and cook your traditional Neapolitan meal from scratch with Francesco!
This is hands down the best cooking class there is in Naples! Francesco Civita is a Neapolitan Chef who has travelled the world and cooked in all kinds of restaurants from Rome to Sorrento and is also our founder and general manager. 40 years old and with an international background he is a proud father and devoted husband. His love for cooking started at a very early age when he would spend the weekends in the family kitchen observing his grandmother and mother while they prepared the traditional recipies of the Neapolitan culinary culture. Growing up he was gradually allowed to join in and slowly mastered all those rituals that are the foundation of Neapolitan cuisine. These fundamental experiences combined with the experience of one of the best culinary schools of Italy today he is able to interpret our most traditional dishes with a modern twist.
It's all about traditional Neapolitan cuisine and lifestyle. This class hosted in a home in the Quartieri Spagnoli (Spanish Quarters) where the owner Mr. Ferraiolo also known by everyone as the Principe (Prince) will open open up his doors and let us spend an incredible morning in one of the most beautiful homes of the area.
Francesco knows his way around very well and is able to relate with all the colourful personalities you may encounter in our city taking home anything you may need at the best price possible, making him a reliable source of info about your stay in Naples. He will take you grocery shopping for the lesson at the local market in the Fuorigrotta neighborhood, illustrating the different products on sale at the market in general and at his personal butcher, fishmonger and greengrocer.
After the grocery shopping he will drive his guests back to the Principe's home to start the cooking class. Everything will be made, hands on, by the participants under his joyful supervion. He strongly believes in teaching his secrets and applies his motto "you learn better by doing than just observing" so be ready for doing everything yourselves! Cooking takes time, so a delicious Neapolitan home made coffee will be served before the lesson in order to spark up your attention! The meal will consist of a starter, a first course, a second course and a dessert, accompanied by local wine.
Recipes and pictures of the class will be emailed to you at the end of the day.
Please note that this class has a minimum quota of 2 participants, for single private lessons please contact us via email at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will get back to you with the details.
